iPhone 15 Pro Max USB-C Port Wider Than iPad mini's

Maybe it's just me, but has anyone else noticed that the USB-C port on the iPhone 15 Pro Max is wider than the iPad mini's USB-C port? Everything fits and works fine, there's just more "wiggle" room.

The ports on my 15PM and 12.9 Pro look and feel identical...

Maybe it’s just me. I’ve attached pictures of my 15 Pro Max and Mini 6. The iPhone is on the right.

Looking at my AirPods Pro and iPad Air, the receptacle looks the same size.

I'd put it down to wear & tear of old device vs new device.

The actual port is the same width on both devices, it's just that the iPhone's port looks wider because it has a bezel while the iPad's port is cut directly into the body itself.

Apple specs indicate the iPad mini 6 port is 8.55mm wide.
