I was in the middle of working on my less than a month old MBP and all the sudden noticed it stopped charging, tried several things and nothing would work. Chatted with Apple support and they could only get me an appt with the local "apple partner" springboard media. So I went in and it was quickly and obviously determined that the USB-C power brick was dead. But... they said I had to send my MBP in to apple to get a new brick!?! That makes zero sense, and it's my work computer so I cannot be without it. The guy there told me to make an appt at the Apple store and they can probably just give me a new brick.
So I will go there on Wed, but I had to buy a new one from springboard media cause I still need to work and charge my MBP. I will return it to Springboard once I get one from Apple. The whole situation is unreal to me. Last time I went there for them to replace my iPhone 6 battery(before the big reveal) when they were $79 and Springboard media said they had to send my phone back and it would take up to two weeks. This place is such a waste.
