Is there a USB-C splitter available so that I can use my USB-C charger for my 2016 MBP to charge both the Macbook and my iPhone X at the same time? I know I can connect my iPhone through my Mac, but I would love to have a small splitter connected to the charger. Then I could connect a USB-C cable to my Macbook, and another to my iPhone X.

I know there are USB-C hubs available. Those I have been looking at have been big with 4 outputs. I just need a small 1 -> 2 port splitter.

Does it exist? And will it let me charge fast? Would fast charge work for my iPhone X?

Don't think that would exist as how would it negotiate the charging wattage if there's two devices connected? Also you'd need a USB-C to Lightning adapter, so not really saving much. Just get a cable for the Mac and sorted, you can use the same cable with the Mac charger if necessary which will do a fast charge. But you won't be able to do them off the same cable.

I don’t know the answer to your first question, but I thought the hub was doing that! I’ve already got the lightning cable. Connecting it ti the mac works when I’m using it - except for the annoying iTunes pop up, but when I don’t use my Mac I have to disconnect the usb-c cable and insert the usb-c to lightning cable. Not the biggest problem on the Earth today, but somewhat annoying:)

Yeah, I think you are out of luck for what you are looking for and I know exactly what you mean. You are looking to maximize one plug (Macbook Power supply) to serve up USB-C fast charging speeds to your phone and MB at the same time. Getting a hub would require more cable and I am pretty sure it won't charge the Macbook from a direct connection from the hub.

Agreed, not the biggest problem in the world. I think the cleanest solution and cheapest would be to just get a 20 something watt plug from Amazon and use it with your USB-C to lightening. If it makes you feel better, plug the Macbook power supply and the Amazon plug into an extension cord and then plug the extension cord into the wall, effectively serving as a splitter;) That last sentence was a joke.
