Here’s my situation: Have an M1 MacBook Air, a Windows laptop, an iPhone 15 Pro and an LG B7 tv. The Mac, iPhone and Windows laptops have no issue outputting to my computer monitors using a usb c to hdmi cable, usb c to display port cable or in the case of the Windows laptop HDMI to HDMI. The Windows machine works to the LG tv with an HDMI to HDMI cable, as well. However, the Windows laptop, MacBook and iPhone do not work with the usb c to HDMI cable to the LG. They detect an “LG tv” as an external monitor but the tv gets no signal. I’ve ordered a new cable but I have this one- it’s new and supports the formats of the laptops and tv https://a.co/d/
The cable works with the laptops/iphone and my computer monitors so it’s not entirely defective. Does this sound like a cable mismatch of some kind or some inherent issue with usb c to hdmi on the lg tv? I recall using an output from an older MacBook that had an older usb format to hdmi cable with the LG fine several years ago. Any other ideas? Thanks!
