USB-C to USB-A help

I want to hook up my iPad Pro 2021 to my iMac 2015. My iMac does not have a USB-C port. I cannot figure out how to connect them together. A lot of adapters out there don’t work. I need an adapter or cable that is compatible. Please help.

There’s cables with usb a to usb c.

I know there are, but most do not work. What I need is for someone to tell me which cable will work.
