Anyone else having trouble with USB flash drives plugged into your 2016 MBP 15"? I am using Apple's USB-C adapter with a flash drive to try and load some pictures I took for a project, but the flash drive is no appearing on my MBP. I have been using the same adapter plugged into a Logitech mouse receiver with no issues. For some reason, the USB drive is not appearing.

I JUST placed the pictures on my drive using the card reader on my iMac (since no SD slot on my MBP), but wanted to use my new MBP to edit the pictures. Anyone else having issues. This is really annoying since I am trying to study for finals at the same time and really don't want to waste time messing with things.

15" 2016 MBP with everything maxed and Mac OS Sierra.

Try another flash drive. It could be that the flash drive you are trying to use is causing interference with your new Mac, and preventing the Mac from recognizing. Not every flash drive is going to work.

This doesn't help you now, and I'm not trying to be a smarta$$, but... buy one of these:

Not all adapters and flash drives are created equal. Best to cut out variables like adapters when you can. You can't be sure what part of your set up is failing, adapter or flash drive. I've had flash drives not work due to simple formatting as well. Not in your case I know, but too many variables.

Strange behavior, but I'm not sure why it wouldn't be working. I've used a few different ones on mine - one with a USB-C connector and two though Apple's adapter.

Are you certain the one you're using isn't encrypted in some way that requires a special app installed? Or somehow formatted to NTFS or something else odd? Are you certain it still works? Does it work if you connect it to a different computer?

Edit: I have this one -

Has USB-A and USB-C connectors on it, and both retract for easy pocketing.

The drive I am using works fine on my iMac, also on the same version of Sierra. No issues with the formatting or anything else. Trying to move the files from my iMac to my MBP (I know I can do it over the network, but trying to figure out why my USB drive isn't working on my MBP).

Remove the drive, open console app, filter on USB and reinsert the thumb drive. It should give you some idea why it won't mount it.

It's a MacOS problem, upgrade to the Beta (or wait until official release) and it will work just fine. I had the same issues.
