Our daughter has a MC654LL/A MacBook Air 13-inch Laptop - Apple M4 chip, 24GB Memory, 512GB SSD and I am getting her an external DVD Drive (an LG LG SP60NB50 External DVD Writer).

The DVD Drive uses a USB A connector and I think I’ll need a USB hub device.

Can someone recommend a good one that will not hurt the MacBook, will work well and is reasonably priced?

If you haven't already ordered the drive, have you considered a drive that has BluRay, also?

Thank you for your response. I hadn’t considered BluRay but that’s a good idea. Was buying the LG used but, if you have a recommendation, I’ll look for one.

Also, what hubs are good?

Is this one decent?

Can't help with the hubs, don't own one.

The reason I suggested BluRay is that DVD is... well... pretty much obsolete by now. And BD is much better quality overall.
