I need to buy a USB Hub. I will use it to connect my external HD, iPod, mouse, camera, and other things to my laptop.

Things I am looking for:
--Relatively small, I want to mount it (via double-sided tape) to the underside of my desk to keep it out of the way.
--I need it to be powered (obviously?).
--I want cheap but reliable.
--I want to be able to buy it at a store locally if possible (BestBuy, CompUSA, CircuitCity)

Can anyone recommend good/bad brands, or specific models that they have had good/bad luck with?

Thanks

Well, I personally like Belkin hubs, which you can get at stores usually. If you get them online, use the code "12345" to save about 40% on the price.

goto best buy and look around they have tons of pretty cheep ones!

im using a Targus
ive never heard of that company, but it works like its suppose to!
Its got my iPod and my keyboard (used for an extender)
my mouse is hooked up to my keyboard

That's not a bad idea! I might have to look into that myself. :)

Anywho, Belkins are nice. I have a USB/Firewire hub from D-Link. Was the best one I could find that matched my needs....maybe check out IOGear? I have a nice card reader from them.

On which online store can you use this code to get 40% off?

PS: I use the same code on my luggage. :D

Thanks everyone. I bought one last night at BestBuy. 7-port Belkin hub for $24.99. Mounted it under my desk, looks/works great.

The Belkin 7 looks great!! I think I might go pick one up tomorrow:D What did you use to mount it under your desk? Velcro and double sided tape would be an obvious choice but that could potentially leave residue on a great looking hub!
