USB hubs - What is Quad TT?

Hi there.

Recently got a Belkin Tunesync, a USB 2.0 hub with 'Quad TT'.

It seems to aid in cross compatibility with USB 1.1 devices and USB 2.0 devices.

But can someone tell me exactly what it does?
