Hi folks i have a problem with my usb stick. I have formated my usb stick with paragon ntfs to be able to place 5gb files on it. When i open the usb on a windows computer it only shows 200mb instead of the usb capacity witch is 16gb. The files seem to be in another partition but i never formated the stick in partitions i tried this about 10 times and always the same. Also on a windows machine it says i need to format the stick before i can use it. After formating on windows i only have 200mb available. Can someone please help me out on how to set up my usb stick and how to format so it works on windows and osx with 6gb files

The simplest workaround is probably to reformat to ExFAT. Use Disk Utility to format the drive, select ExFAT from the menu, and also click Options and make sure that MBR is selected.

ExFAT can be used by all OS X and Windows versions released in the past few years and doesn't require any additional software (unless you're on XP in which case you need a free update).

Correct, as long as you're using 10.6.5 or newer you'll have read/write access to ExFAT, which allows files larger than 4 GB.
