I'm about to finally get an enclosure for my 60GB IBM TravelStar drive (the replacement arrived from IBM the other day) and place it outside my TiBook. With that in the mix, I will have a total of 130GB outside my TiBook, with another 40GB inside (170GB total). The 30GB and 40GB external drives are almost full at theis point, so I will use the 60 to organize it all and then do some burning. Since I have the networked printer at home, I will be able to print out directories of each cd to keep track of what is on each. Then I can wipe them and start fresh.

I have just under 4GB of music on my TiBook (all in iTunes and on my iPod). That includes almost all of my cd's (there are a few I don't care enough about to pull into the computer) and some mp3 downloads.

I am one of the few of my friends who are just SICK when it comes to music. We'll download anything and everything we can get our hands on.

170gb is nice. Scratch disk for PS and stuff..... but man, just a over a year ago, I was working at an ad agency. My machine was an 8500 120 with 96 mb of ram and a 1gb drive. And a 15" olllllllllld Applevision monitor.

I feel so much more at home on the dual gig, 17" LCD Studio display and tibook backup, and the dual 450 recording studio with 290gb total. Kinda nice. Overkill.... but nice. :)

AL, I'll plug my 24x QueFire in when I get home later and let you know... There is the combo drive inside my TiBook, so I have two burners when I plug the external into the computer.

cool thanks Alpha.

moxi i was referring to the release of quicktime 6 and the mpeg 4 tech. better compression and higher quality. im just keep wondering how many songs i will be able to fit on my ipod with the new compression...

Ah yes. I don't even wanna think about that! :) Hopefully there's some technology that would let me take existing mp3s and compress to mp4 (or whatever it'll be called) and take advantage of compression at least. :)
