USB Sound output?

I have a DAC/amplifier (A Peachtree Audio Decco) and I use the USB input to connect to my PC. Can the Macbook output USB sound if I just plug the cable into it like I do on the PC or is there additional hardware or software necessary?

Works fine for input or output. I use a USB headset daily.

You just need to set it in the control panel if it doesn't automatically do it when you plug in.
