    is it formatted ntfs?
I know that osx can read ntfs but not write, might be related to that
edit: does it work on any other usb port?

If you have an app in the mac allowing macs to read and write to ntfs drives then then the mac can read and write to any ntfs disk, i have one of those apps,

but for some reason on the 2 front usb ports the computer does not come up showing any item when something is plugged into them

not sure if it shows up in the back ones? have not tried them yet.

Is it set to show mounted hard drives or not?

Could it be a power thing for the front usb bus?
