Hello,

First : not a native speaker but I'll try my best

What I have : iPad Mini first generation (Model A1432)
Goal : Use it with a Chromecast or similar, outside (any place where I can't bring a big monitor)

When you want to use an iPad as a monitor, it's either via an app or via an adaptor
I've already managed to mirror my phone screen with an app but I don't think it would apply with the Chromecast

So, that leaves the adaptor. I saw on the Internet, HDMI to Lightning adaptors (HDMI female and Lightning male)
But I also saw that it might not work with old iPads.

Questions : Will it work ? And if it won't, why ? What technology does the tablet need ?

I thought about using my phone as a monitor, but I saw that it's not possible, the phone can send video signals via USB-C but not receive them

Thanks for your help

The same goes for the Lightning to HDMI adapter. It can send signals but not receive them.

If you don't want to use an app to cast, you'd probably be better served trying to find 8-10" LCD displays rather than using the mini.

Thanks, I thought about a portable display but I wanted to use the mini rather than buying something else, since it's just sitting there
