Use Airport Express solely as airplay audio device, without slowing down WiFi?

Is there a way to use my Airport Express ONLY as an airplay device (to hook it up to my stereo), and not have it extend (or slow down) the signal of the WIFI in my house?

If so, how would I configure it?

I am using an old Express A1264, and the newest Airport Extreme Base Station.
