Use both USB and Bluetooth keyboards?

Having fun setting up my new Mac Mini. Wireless keyboard works great, but USB keyboard is no longer recognized, even if I disconnect the Bluetooth keyboard.
Any advice to ensure I can use either, or at least switch back and forth easily?

I have both usb Mac keyboard and the Mac BT keyboard... I'm using BT now -- only use the USB when I need to boot from CD etc .. USB is connected thru extension USB cable but both keyboards work...

Both wired and BT work at the same time for me. 2012 Mac Mini.

The wired keyboard is not a Mac keyboard, if that matters.

Update: troubleshooting proved it's a problem with the keyboard. It's a nice and vintage apple A1048 model, so I've taken a stab at fixing it. I disassembled it following tutorial at iFixit. Some keys - but not all - now working properly
