Yes,

I own an EyeTV HD and if you are able to have your Mac and DVR box near each other you can turn your Mac into your new DVR.

The way you would get rid of your other boxes would be through iOS touch devices - the EyeTV app allows for video output of live and prerecorded content. Works great on iPhones, iPods, and iPads. You will even be able to watch your tv on 3G!

The AppleTV (for now) is a great way to take your iTunes content which could include EyeTV recordings.

It's a great system would love to answer any questions you have.

excellent! now I just have to sell the wife on my geekish answer to bloated cable bills! :D:apple:

Exactly,

Get it and perfect the system then show it off on how you will save a ton of money on bills.

Oh the Mac Mini would be a great box to use in front of the TV along with the EyeTV - I've got a Mini as my main machine and think in the future that is where it will end up going - sounds like you've got a great setup shaping up

I dont know if I would move it to my living room to where we watch the most, but where it is now is sitting right next to a tv, cable box, and fios router connected to my AEBS. I already have a 160 apple tv in the living room and one in the bedroom, and a ATV2 connected to my sons tv, and another in the box (cant figure out the best location for it yet).

my only fear is saturating my 802.11n wireless or dropouts, so i might look at network over power line gear....

have to start looking at synology or drobo for added storage...lol:D

I love the EyeTV stuff (I have two DTT sticks, one for each computer :)), but I do wish someone would hurry up and bring out a chipset for DVB-T2 so that ElGato could release an HD version for the UK. It's annoying being able to pick up terrestrial HD on the Continent but not here.

You may have answered all my questions. I want to get rid of my cable company DVR and assumed I could use a Mac as my DVR. I would assume then I would have to use the output from my Mac into my flatscreen tv in order to watch my recorded shows when I wanted. And, could I also then stream it to my IOS as well?
Thanks for the help!
