Use idle computer's mouse with MBP wirelessly?

I have class in a computer lab. It's filled with desktop Dells and I saw someone use their MacBook with the mouse from one of the desktops wirelessly! He opened up his Mac and didn't change the wiring of the desktop PC and was able to use the mouse with his computer.

How would I do this?

Probably some sort of VNC client or screen sharing program.

yes...that would be wise to do. I'll ask him in class then. I'll update the thread when I find out.
