Is it possible to do this? If so then how? If not then is there any way to add lyrics to songs on my iPhone without having to do it on iTunes and then sync?

Try Soundhound. I don't even bother with Apple's lyrics, anymore.

I have Soundhound but it's not able to add lyrics to songs in the Music app is it? What's frustrating is that sometimes I add lyrics to songs on iTunes and sync but they don't show up on my iPhone.

I think PlayingLyrics might help in cydia and free.

That's a cool tweak but not what I'm looking for. It says the song has to have the lyrics for it to show up.

I mean I open SH when listening to my music, instead of leaving Music open. With their recent Livelyrics system, most songs scroll lyrics for me. After it starts scrolling (if you haven't noticed), turn to landscape orientation. It's great.
