Hi,

I'm currently using my iMAC 27" as a monitor for my Late 2013 MBP . I've hooked it up via a Thunderbold cable. Since the new MBP only have USB-C connectors does anybody know it this combination will still work and if yes, what adapters / hubs may be needed?

Thanks
Christian

I think Apple sells a thunderbolt to thunderbolt 1/2 cable, I suspect that's what you'll be needing. THe t3 on one end will be the usb-c connector on the mbp.

Can anybody confirm that the Apple USB-C to Thunderbold adapter works with an iMac as an external display? The documentation does not explicitly state that and I don't want to invest in another adapter which isn't working though.

Thanks

yes I can confirm that it works. I use my 2016 MacBook Pro with a 2013 iMac in target display mode all the time. You just have to have the thunderbolt 3 to thunderbolt 2 adapter.
