I am wondering if can get my iMac to show up in Finder on my new MBair with a direct hardwire connection between the two machines? I have a USB file transfer cable and also a USB to ethernet adapter. Will either of those allow the MBair to use the iMac CDROM?

If the answer is negative, can I share the iMac CDROM and do it over my WiFi network?

iMac is 21.5 inch iMac11,2 running SNL whereas MBair is brand new 11 inch running Lion.

Thank you

Thanks for that. That allows me to use the iMac CDROM on my network (WiFi). Since wires are faster than WiFi I'd like to use that, if possible. Any thoughts there? While I am at it, is there any use for the USB ethernet adapter for MBair other than for migration?
