Use iPhone as a Harddrive ??

Is it possible to use the iPhone 3G as a Harddrive
to store files ?

kind of, there is a free app called Air Sharing. You can use that to store comp files on your phone over the WiFi. Check it out, its pretty cool

Nein. I think with v3.0 apple will open up the iPhone a little more and allow for this sort of file transfer... but not for at least another year sadly.

i remember there being an uproar when the first iphone and ipt did not have the option "enable for disk use" that every ipod had had before it

They did it, most likely, to stop the efforts of jailbreaks. How well did that work out?
