Webcams are like $5-10 at Electronic Fry's

better quality, records audio, etc

Thank you for not adding to the thread.

Webcams have no relevance when it comes to iPhones. Not everyone lugs a computer around everywhere they go.

If you got one then that's great! Oh yea, if you have a MiFi or a 3G modem...

Thanks Stagea for the info! Great app out there. :)

I've tested chatroulette with it. Works good, except for the sound.

Another funny thing is that you can stream you iPhone screen for other apps! Really awesome! ;)

another alternative

Another alternative program to turn your iPhone into a webcamera would be iWebcamera by Manfred Nerurkar. It is $4.99 in the App Store and works pretty decently (with the exception of not working in iChat and Photobooth on the Mac side). It is compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, and Mac OS 10.5 and 10.6.

I tried that app last night and I can confirm it is a very well made app. Works as advertised and is easy to use. I used it with MSN Messenger.

Indeed works great, but.. it does not stream sound, only video!

Is there one that streams both sound and video? anyone?

I don't think it would be app specific, I think the audio restriction is due to the iphone...I don't think audio would be possible through any app.
