Wasn't sure where to post this question so if there's a better place, sorry.

My gf's macbook broke and she got a new laptop, but still has the old one (motherboard is dead). I was wondering if I could take the display out of her macbook and wire it up to a dvi or vga or any other plug and use it as a monitor for another computer. Does anyone know if it's possible or if it's been done before?

There's not a real practical reason for wanting to do this, I mainly wanna do it "just because." Might be a fun little project for me

Realistically no. Internally it's not connected by VGA or DVI. Rather a custom LVDS connection.

That's kinda what I was thinking. Just wasn't sure if it was something that could be used. darn

normally it is possible, you can get programs that simulate the macbook as an external display, but sadly these require a working motherboard :/
