I just got a new Imac 27" 2012 and I would like to transfer the 8gb of ram that came with it in my MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009)

These 8gb of ram are going to work in my macbook pro? I will be able to go from 2gb to 8gb of ram that is going to be a huge difference. (Even if the speed of these modules is going to be downgraded is going to be ok for me)

If the ram is not going to be compatible and I will however give it a shot and try to install those modules do I have a risk to damage the macbook pro or not? In case it just wont boot up right?

    Thank you!
(Sorry for my foreign english :) )

Your English is fine and better than of many using it as their mother's tongue.

Anyway, since both Macs use the same 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM RAM modules, it should work. And yes, going from 2 GB RAM to 8 GB RAM is a huge difference, depending on your workload.

Open Activity Monitor on your MacBook Pro after a day of typical usage and go to the System Memory* tab and look for Page Outs and Swap used and report back.
