Hi,

I just install Skype and bought unlimited credits (worldwide).

I'm also signed on to my local data plan and am wondering if im overseas, and i use the Skype to make calls, will i be charged by my telco???

Any apps to avoid this?

ya put the phone into airplane mode and turn on wifi. Connect to a wifi network and then use skype. Otherwise you will be charged for data + skype to make the call.

Do this all the time - as pointed out above, stay in airplane mode and use WiFi. If you turn on the phone it'll register on the network and you run the risk of ping pong billing - i.e. a call goes to voice mail and you get charged for the call and return when someone leaves a message. Not answering will not prevent this.

I use free wifi spots - if an Apple store is nearby they'll have one; I've even used theirs after they close.
