used computer prices

I do not understand the pricing on used computers.
On powermax a used g4 computer:
Single processor g4 867
60gb hard drive
128 mb ram
superdrive (probably 2x?)
does have a 250mb zip built in.

Now a new g5 POWERmac is
1.8ghz g5
256mb ram
80gb hard drive
8x superdrive
bettter video card


The g4 1349, the g5 1499.

Why is an old, used, slower computer worth the same as a brand new one?
