Ok so I just bought a new MBP and still currently have a Blacbook witch I have been useing time machine to back up my first question is can I just use the same Wd Passport and just start useing it on the new computer and it will over wright the old MacBook ? Second when useing time machine with my WD Passport does that aslo back up all my pics and music and video downloads that I had paid for from I tunes or do I need to make a seperate media folder for those downloads ? I thinks that's it, thanks...

Yes. It will back up everything unless you specify otherwise.

I believe (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) that a partition on the drive will be created for each machine you are backing up.

It doesn't actually create a separate partition, but two separate files for each backup will be created. I back up both my MBP and my wife's MB on the same Time Capsule along with several GBs of miscellaneous files.
