In a previous version of OS X it displayed your login name at the top right hand corner of the screen. You could click it and go back to the login screen or switch to another account. Anybody know if something similar is available in Tiger? It was very useful, especially when wanting to leave something open to read the next day but not want to give anybody access to everything in your account.

All you have to do is enable "Fast User Switching" in the account preferences.
