Hello,

I was reading about Dropbox having root user access, so i decided to check my root user access settings in my directory utility. I've noticed these 3 services active. Can someone explain what is this LDAP and NIS?
Are these default services, or should I be concerned.

What are the exactly?

LDAP and NIS have to do with user authentication over the network. These are typically used in the corporate environment if your Mac is set up for network authentication.
