User Servicable WD MyBook Studio

I know these drives are user servicable but if I want to upgrade the total storage of the drive (like replace one of the 500GB drives with a 1TB), Could I place one of the drives from the device into my Mac Pro? I ask because I am having a very hard time justifying the 500 plus dollar price tag for the 2TB drive and I was thinking that maybe If I get this drive, I could later on add a 1 TB drive if I really do somehow end up needing more space.

Provided you got the correct type of drive for what is in the housing yes. I'm not familiar with the internals of the MyBook Studio, so I can't say if they'd work properly with your Mac Pro.
