There’s generally no issue when requesting a name change. As noted above reach out to the adminsAwesome, have done this 👍🏼
Normally that is not possible, unless there is a privacy concern, or some other compelling factor that is tied to your current username. If that is the case, please use the "contact us" form to send a request to the staff.

I did. A name change is one of the perks of being a Contributor.Didn’t you have your name changed from BasicGreatGuy to Apple_Robert?
I don’t view the ability to change a user name to be a “perk” I was a “Demi-God” or something when I contributed years ago. I didn’t contribute for perks or a title. I contributed to be nice. Some sites have an “contributors only” members section too. I donated to an audio site because I was getting lots of useful help with my questions. A perk was you could list audio gear for sale if you wanted. I contributed because it’s a smaller website funded by either ads or members and I liked the idea of less ads and I wanted to help with the server costs since I was getting use from it.I did. A name change is one of the perks of being a Contributor.
If I remember correctly, when I first joined here, you really couldn't get your name changed easily as has been mentioned in counter to what I said. I was unaware that the status has changed where any regular member can get his or her name changed just because said person got tired of it. That really defeats the point of having a Contributor perk when a nonpaying member can get the same perk for free.

I am a Contributor because I believe in the site and appreciate the knowledge and friendship found here. I didn't join just because of the perks, although I do make use of them from time to time.I don’t view the ability to change a user name to be a “perk” I was a “Demi-God” or something when I contributed years ago. Having the ability to change the username is a perk of a Contributor. I don't care if you believe it or not. It's a fact. Ask Arn if you don't believe it.Stuff and nonsense.
As far as I can recall - and, for what it is worth, I was a 'contributor' for six years - I cannot ever recall the possibility of a "name change" being offered as a "perk".
Perhaps it is, but that is not why most who have - or had - chosen to contribute actually contributed.
What an extraordinary post.
And, why shouldn't they - that is, anyone who has joined the forum - make such a request, should they feel the need to do so, irrespecctive of whether they have a paid contributor account, or not?
As far as I know, anyone can request a name change - for whatever reason (and these reasons far exceed "being tired of it") - at any time, and the staff on MR will usually seek to address such a request.

I also don't care if you don't like my memory from 9 years ago.
I am not going to argue of with you or anyone else over this. It's not worth my time. The only reason I responded further was to reply to Nick.
The OP got his name changed. I am moving on.
What perks do you get as a Contributor?
I got my name changed from FreshPie to AngerDanger seven years ago without paying; as far as I know, name changes have never been exclusive to Contributors.

User title changes, on the other hand, are solely for Contributors.
What perks do you get as a Contributor?
Actually we let anyone change their name and do not limit it to contributors. The member just needs to use the contact usI did. A name change is one of the perks of being a Contributor.
I can't speak for anyone else but I'm chill. Just found it odd someone got their knickers in a twist thinking a name change was a deserved contributor perk.WOW, you guys should all just chill the heck out! - I asked a simple question about a simple request that FYI has been dealt with and you may notice my name has now changed.
Also, I didn't have to join any form of paid inside circle or cult.
Its dealt with, lets move on!
