Hi,

First post, so forgive me if I used the wrong forum.
I have a new iMac and I bought an external drive, WD MyBook 2Tb (1Tb if in Raid 1)
My reasoning was as follows:
Put Snow Leopard and all the apps on the iMac and use the external drive as the Users drive. I know how to re-direct towards this drive. This gives me more space on my iMac and more security over my documents.

Is there a reason why I should not do this?

Thnx.

Just make sure you're using Time Machine to back up your data to another drive, especially if you go with the striped 2TB configuration. You're basically doubling your chances of data loss due to drive failure if you're striping two drives together.
