Total BS report.

It doesn't see all the NFC phone bumping in the world or swapping of SD cards.

Did you even bother to read even a part of the article. It refers to social media sites like Twitter, FB, Pinterest, not one to one photo sharing as you suggest.

The reason for this is obviously because: iPhone users have more friends.

Kidding of course.

But the share button in iOS does enable users to share very easily.

Android has a built in share also and is better integrated than ios with third party apps.

The actual reason for this, and all similar research like this is because android phones are being used as feature phones.

I think he was being sarcastic :p

Ooooh. If so, my bad. So hard to tell when it comes to Android fanatics. They actually think bumping and SD card swapping are awesome killer "must have" features. :D

All the more reason to use the /sarc tag at the end.

Don't forget removable batteries!

That is of course until the nexuses (nexii?) don't have them!

Not fair to Android. It would have a higher percentage if FTP transfers were included.

Nicely done. :D

(donutbagel, quoted a pre-edit version ... it's funnier)

This report doesn't surprise me: the types of people who are prone to high[er] volume social network contribution seem like the type of users who would more likely purchase an iPhone, and an iPhone OOTB, has a very conspicuous focus on FB and Twitter (with the services being cleanly integrated).

lol All my friends that have an Android always throw that feature to me to feel good about themselves. ha

the wait at the Genius Bar nowadays seems to indicate the same for iOS users

NEWSFLASH: lots of people are bad with technology

Did you not see the jk?

NEWSFLASH: android users crave attention also. (See what happens when I ignore your jk?)

"Users More Likely to Share Web Content From iPhone Versus Other Devices"

Group Hug!

You misunderstood. On quite a lot of phones there is no need to share things via social network sites. When a friend takes a picture and I want a copy, we tend to send it over bluetooth. Its a lot more convenient and it saves using your contract's internet allowance.

Unfortunately, iPhones appear to only be able to use bluetooth for headsets and speakers. Thus the higher usage of web share content.

When I have a picture I want to share, I don't wait until I can get within Bluetooth range with each of my friends, I put it on Facebook or Twitter so they can all see it.

So your theory is..

Probably because the rest of the phone universe has full Bluetooth and file support. No need to use the web.

Just so I understand you think that when iOS7 comes out, with airdrop, iPhone users will become "less social?"

I mean you could use file support with Bluetooth, at those speeds, or AirDrop at faster speeds... No wait. Since the file will transfer faster, iOS users will still have time to be social AND get the file transferred...

that's a given. there are more iPhone's out there than any other smartphone. DUH. i hate retarded articles like these

Sigh... sometimes I think you people deliberately misunderstand. I never said that iOS was less social. I was just coming up with a theory why iOS Share Web content was bigger than other devices. Lack of local and cross platform sharing mechanism. Such as bluetooth file transfers.

Each to their own, I don't really use facebook much.

I'd think you'd see this is the case more often than not. People use fb and Twitter and not Bluetooth transfers to share pics.

There is an explanation why these surveys always say the same thing but it's not because most android users are using Bluetooth over the web.

well that's because the sharing features is deeply integrated with the iOS, and that's one of its many awesome features.

Android has better sharing features than ios and far better integration with third party apps.

The truth is obvious but no one wants to admit it: most android phones are used as feature phones.
