As a former mini lover and now 16 Pro owner, I don’t find the 16 Pro all that unwieldy. When I pull my 13 mini back out of the drawer, it feels like a baby phone in comparison. I’m not fussed at all about the lack of a mini now.

If it carried the telephoto lens of the Pro series, I'd probably give it a shot. But the rumor is that it’s only the dumb ultrawide.

As per rumors, it sounds like a pile of pointless compromises. Certainly open to being surprised, though… Apple's not stupid after all.

But I'm prolly going to hang on to the 13 Mini as long as possible, and then trade up to an iPhone 20 Pro Max (hate huge phones, but love tiny tablets!)

Nope. Nope. Nope. Thinner is not the same as smaller. And, if the so-called Air removes a camera I don't see it being a big seller.

I bent an original SE when I sat on it, so I doubt the durability of something larger like the Air would be any better.

With the rumours of a thinner iPhone beginning to take shape, are there any existing iPhone 12 or 13 Mini users who are interested in the smaller form factor that are excited about or planning to purchase this device?

If so, what are your expectations? Is there any thing that may affect your interest in this rumoured device?

As a Mini user myself, I’m intrigued by other Mini users thoughts on this subject.

Not interested in a bigger phone. I will ride this 13 mini until it does not get iOS updates.

I just do not understand Apple’s wet dreams over things that are thinner yet demonstrably worse in the hands of consumers, witness BendGate, smaller battery, etc. I thought all that went south when Jony Ive left. Thinner does nothing for me, I view it as a downside much like the older AppleTV remotes. I am too clumsy for such precision svelte devices. Smaller, however, works well for me and I’d very much upgrade to an iPhone17mini if it were to happen. One can dream.

Opposite experience here. Former 13 mini owner with a 16 pro, and I miss the little fella all the time, especially when I pick up my wife’s 13 mini. The 16 pro has many fine features, but the form factor is vastly inferior to the 13 mini.

I don’t see any appeal to the Air at all. Thinner means nothing to me. Height and width are both vastly more important than depth.

I don't see any relationship between the Mini and the Air. While they both are/should be light in weight, there is a massive difference in size. I don't think the Air will be pocket friendly due to its size just like the Plus and PM.

Thickness is not an issue for me --- they are all thin enough already

The height & the width are the dimensions I care about and anything larger than a 13 Mini is too big for me

(I honestly wish there was something physically smaller than the 13 Mini also)

Not comparable. Best option instead of a mini is regular base iPhone or a SE. My take on a possible 17 air is to ”replace” the plus phone and win over some regular base model users. So really, you should ask the plus phone users.
