Using 4S headphone jack as Line input?

Is this possible? I been waiting for this feature for so long 🙁

I am a sound tech for many clubs and mix live bands.. Would love to just connect a 3.5mm to iPhone and record a Line input instead of microphone.

Why not just buy a line-in adapter for the dock connector?

You'll have to get an adapter. They're not that expensive.
