Well first off im a complete Mac noob, so im stil adjusting to the wonderful world of OS X. I have a wireless home network with a Windows XP PC for the family that has a printer connected to it that i have shared. I previously had a Dell laptop that i could print wirelessly with just fine, but i cant figure out how to get my mac to hook up to the printer.

I looked for a mac tutorial for a networked printer and it said i needed an airport connection to plug the printer into to get it work. Is this the only way i can print wirelessly? I have a netgear router for my wireless network.

Thanks for the help

When I lived at home (I'm in college now), I had my printer connected by an ethernet cable to my wireless router and had no problems at all printing. At the same time though, before I got that printer, I tried to connect to my parents Windows machine to print from their printer and could never get it to work either.
