My MacBook Pro's screen is totally messed up. The bottom two thirds of the screen come in as blurred vertical lines, while the top works fine for about 5 seconds and then fades out. I've already taken it to an Apple store and they said it was covered under my warranty. However, it'll take a week for them to send it to the fixing place, and I don't have a week to spare until the end of the semester (about 3 weeks away). I've tried plugging in an external monitor and it recognizes it just fine. My computer is working perfectly except for the screen. However, there is no menu bar on the second screen, since the OS thinks I'm trying to use both screens at the same time. Is there any way to make the second screen the main screen so that I can see the menu bar and the dock and such? Thanks.

yeah when you go to displays, you see two screens side by side, the primary screen is the one with the little black bar at the top, simply drag that to the other screen to make it the primary:)

or as ur mbp screen is fubared

connect it up then close the lid putting it to sleep then wake it by plugin or unplugin a usb device and u will have 1 screen with a menu bar :D
