using a wd studio mybook studio 2 on 2 differnent macs by firewire

    i have a question can i use my mybook studio 2 external hd with both my mac mini and macbook pro 13 at the same time by hooking the drive up by its dual firewire ports to the macbook and the mac mini i have a 2 firewire 800 cables will it cause any backfeed through the interface and harm the drive and the macs

    That will not work.
    You have to connect that HDD via Firewire to one of your Macs and share its files via File Sharing (System Preferences > Sharing > File Sharing) to the other Mac via Gigabit Ethernet cable (or wireless).

    i have it setup that way already but i was just wondering if you could without problems well at least now i know
