Hi all,

I'm new, so sorry if this is a silly question. But is there any way to use applications from the itunes store directly on your laptop? They are all designed for the ipad or iphone, and I would simply like the option to use them on my laptop as well. Anyway to do this? Thanks.

Nope.

Right now there isn't an emulator for iPhones/iPod Touches/iPads and I wouldn't expect one any time soon… or ever. The applications have been compiled specifically for the "iDevice" hardware. If you were to have the code used to build the applications you could run them on the iPhone/iPad Simulator.

Side note to anyone else reading this: This makes me think bout the iPad a little more. It's not the first time someone has wanted to run an "iDevice" application on their computer, and the computer is thought to be much more powerful than the iPad. Just something I was thinking about.
