Hello,

I am in the market for a new iMac, and they all come with built in iSight cameras. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to use the Windows version of MSN ('cuz it has video chat) with the built in iSight and chat with other MSNers. I need to use MSN because all my international friends do, and I dont want to force them to dl new chat software.

Does anyone know if this will work? (Loading XP on my mac with Parallels and then using iSight as my Windows MSN webcam?)

Is there another way?

Thanks so much!

yes:D you can.

How can you get a built in Isight to work with windows? I have the 2.0 Mac Book with isight and parallels running. I can't find drivers or get windows to recognize it? :(

So has anyone solved this? I mean the built in isight to use in windows? I did have my iMac dual booting using boot camp into windows xp pro, but it was a pain in the arse, so parallels was the answer...I want to use MSN live messenger with full capability in Windows XP, but are there any drivers?

Thanks all ;)

Parallels doesn't support USB 2.0 (instead USB 1.1) therefore BootCamp's iSight Firmware updates won't work with Parallels. Your only option right now is to use BootCamp 1.1 with Windoze.

aMSN doesnt support audio so video is pretty much useless. You cannot really chat...
If you need to chat with your friends, then go for skype...It supports video conversations with windows skype users...

For iSight on the Winblows on the Mac, use the bootcamp install driver CD you mke before partioning the HD.

DL Bootcamp, make the CD (it'll prompt you), and then you make the partition. I'm not Paralles user so..

iSight Driver for Windows XP SP2 Parallels

Hi everyone,

I've just completed the iSight Driver for Windows XP SP2, for use with Parallels Desktop. It is fully tested and working, tried in Windows Live Messenger (aka MSN) and all other popular applications.

Simply download from: http://www.filehosting.cc/?d=0A2C9D0A4
The password is: unlock

Then extract and run Parallels
Choose Devices > USB > Built-In iSight
Then point the installation to the extracted driver file

Bye for now,
TechToby.

with skype, which everyone seems to recommend, how do you webcam chat with people? can you like webcam chat with ppl who are on iChat/MSN/Yahoo?

also does anyone know how to increase the fps or make the webcam chat in aMSN/Mercury quicker/faster?
