using external display as main display

I connected my macbook pro to a dell u2711 and want to use it as a main monitor, how can I do that? it works as an extended monitor, when my macbook is on

system preferences --> displays --> detect

Arrange displays as you want them, then move the menu bar to your external

is it possible to use the external monitor as a main monitor on its own?

No problem! The same thing with the plugging-in happened to me as well, I was cursing... should have read the article a bit more thorough. 😀

yeah 🙂 I had it working few hours ago, but the macbook was plugged in - didn't think it would make a difference
