Using External HD on OSX and Windows

    Is there a way so that my external hard drive will work for both mac osx (10.4) and windows (2000)? Both computers see the drive but i cant see the mac osx partition on my windows and my osx can see the windows partition but cant make changes to the windows partiton.

    Ok, depends on the formatting of the drive:

    FAT32 - read and write from both Windows and OSX but has file size limitations.

    NTFS - read/write from Windows, read only from OSX

    HFS+ - read/write from OSX, cannot read/write from Windows natively, but can using 3rd party app called MacDrive.

    what would the file size limitations be? any review of the 3rd party software?

    only a file limitation of 4GB with FAT32. macdrive is great i highly recommend it. read & writes to HFS+ in windows perfectly
