I have an old powerbook g4 thats still running tiger. The hinges to the built in screen is broken so I essentially just want to use it as a desktop. Is there a way I can plug in an external lcd, keyboard and mouse and keep the laptop shut closed and still run? I want to be able to use only my external display as my main and only display.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5H11 Safari/525.20)

Make sure it is shut down.
Plug the keyboard, mouse, and monitor into it.
Press the power button and then close the lid.

This should put it into "closed clamshell" mode where the computer operates off the external monitor only. This should work unless the contacts that indicate the lid is closed are messed up Good luck.
