Hi.
Certain apps I'm using reqquire use of the F5 key to refresh the page.
(Dreamweaver, Explorer).
On the powerbook the F5 key is also the volume key. How do I use this key without changing the volume?
I've tried holding down shift, aapple key, etc.

Please help.

Either hold down th [fn] key (bottom left of your keyboard) or open up System Preferences and go to the Keyboard tab in the Keyboard & Mouse section.

Select the "Use F1-F12 to control software features" if you don't want to hold down the [fn] key to do it. You then hold down [fn] when you want to control volume, brightness etc. (this is what I prefer to do, as I use F9-F12 for Exposé and Dashboard)

Try using it in combination with the Fn- key, which should be in the extreme lower left. If you find that you would prefer the option of pressing Fn- when you want these keys to do volume/brightness, and just pressing the key for the F5 action, that option is located under the keyboard system prefs. 🙂
