Is using FileVault with a SSD not a good idea?

When a file is encrypted with AES CBC and you change 1 byte in the middle of the file, every byte after that byte will change because the IV changes.

Does anyone know how exactly FileVault works? Will using FileVault cause a massive amount of writes to the SSD?
