Keygens have always interested me and I found a tutorial for cracking apps on the mac os (educational only). I figured I'd try to follow the tut with the sample program given and Terminal is giving me the following error message: "Unable to locate task for process-id 6481: (os/kern) failure."

In this case, I was using gdb's attach function to open up a running process. I'm assuming that there is some sort of permissions issue? Does anyone have any experience with this?

What is the line from 'ps' that shows the process you are attaching to, and what command are you using to try to attach?

Also, what tutorial are you following?

    Here's the tutorial:
CTRL-F to this part: (gdb) attach Pixadex.10292

Not sure what the 'ps' command is, could you elaborate? Bit of a newbie at programming as of now
