I assume you mean music video DVD, DVD's of music don't require Handbrake.
The speed of handbrake depends on your computer. My computer (an 867 MHZ PB) can take up to 6 hours to compress a DVD with Handbrake. However, my wife's older MB takes between 30 and 50 minutes.
