Using Headphones with Adapter

I was just wondering if anyone is having issues with using the adapter with non earpods. Are the controls and mic working?
 
Apple has acknowledged an issue with the adapter and all headphones losing playback and volume control functionality and is apparently issuing a software fix for the issue soon.
