I am aware there are a few apps that claim to do this over wifi however I am looking for a Bluetooth solution that would be more permanent? Thanks in advance.

I bought Mousepad for my iPad which was ok for short term use, however if you want to do serious work you will need to buy a bluetooth keyboard as all those apps are sporadic in their performance which is a hinderance while working.
